How was Bliss International School founded?
Established in the year 2023, Bliss International School, is an elementary school founded by Bliss Tungnung @BlissZou who was an alumnus of Concordia College, MN, USA, and a scholarship recipient of the International Women Leader Scholarship Program under Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, ELCA. After completing her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in the United States, she returned to Manipur on July 12, 2023, amid Ethnic Violence between the Meitei and the Kuki-Zo. partnering with a philanthropic student body, Zou Sangnaupang Pawlpi, Tungnung immediately worked with internally displaced people in multiple relief centers and noticed that education for children was the main concern of both parents and community leaders. She later works as a Community Mobilizer and Counselor for Manipur Evangelical Lutheran Church, from July-December 2023. In October, Tungnung accepted the Zou Sangnaupang Pawlpi general headquarters request for a voluntary Education Statistician position from 2023-2026. As of today, she has recorded nearly 1000 children from the Zou Tribe who require educational support.
Bliss International School first hosted a program called the Children's Training Program in October 2023. Assisting approximately 200 children the program was sponsored by the Manipur Evangelical Lutheran Church Relief project. It focused on psychological support to both local and internally displaced children and bridged the education gaps caused by Manipur Ethnic violence. With Education is Power as the slogan, the school believes that education is the foundation to promote love, values, and ideas in the world. In January 2024, the school is proud to announce the Young Leaders Program as the first sponsorship program, to train children to become world leaders.
In the hopes of providing education guided by child psychology, the school will be inaugurated on the 30th of January 2024.On a mission to impact generational change by leading and empowering youth to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible global citizens.
